2022.01.26 18:17 bigjimnm Vehicles that get real-world 300+ miles of range?
I've been looking into getting an EV for some time now. The challenge is that we live in Northern New Mexico (Los Alamos), and at the bare minimum, we would need to be able to go to Albuquerque and back on a single charge. It's around 230 miles round-trip, not including the driving around ABQ and such. Further, I understand that EVs loose some charge while parked, which means that it could loose charge while parked at the airport for several days. On top of all of this, there is around a 2500 foot elevation change on this drive, and high speeds (75+ mph).
It seems that most of the EVs I've seen info on state "up to 300+ miles of range". Reading the fine print, it sounds like that only happens on a perfect temperature day and flat terrain. Neither of which are ever likely in New Mexico.
If I were to buy one and find myself needing to charge the car for 40+ minutes before returning home after arriving at midnight at the ABQ airport, I would absolutely hate the car.
I have a friend who has a Tesla Model 3 and lives in ABQ and commutes to Santa Fe daily, and it's just able to do this (70 miles each way) with almost nothing to spare, so I know that wouldn't work.

2022.01.26 18:17 Quirky_Koala_2668 one month clean
a month a go i honestly thought this day would never come and its weird that it actually has. this is the longest ive gone ever without oxy or fent since i started. i think about it often but dont get the drive to go use like i did before which is good but im expecting it to get harder. only thing im struggling with is finding motivation to do anything. i feel normal but not 100% normal if that makes any sense. if anyone has any tips for sobriety let me know cause im new to this.

2022.01.26 18:17 urtv670 Are Title Gyms just boxing Mcdojos?
So a few years ago a guy I worked with claimed to be a boxer training at one of the Title Gyms. So getting curious I started looking into the gym as it's litterally the only boxing gym within 2 hours of me that I've seen. Anyways the curriculum of the gym just was off to me. They have no pad work nor any sparring it's just beating on a bag the whole time. Even their "MMA" class is pretty much the same except you wear MMA gloves and ground and pound bags. Recently while looking for a new place to train the memory of the gym came back and I got to wondering.
Am I missing something or is the gym as big a Mcdojo as it seems? Note I neve attended a class and I'm only going off what they say on their site.

2022.01.26 18:17 Deathtonoobs24 Need help understanding Daisy Chaining with Thunderbolt --> Display Port
Hi all, I recently got a monitor from work which has a Display port out: Z27n G2 I see that this allows for daisy chaining between monitors and was wondering if this would be possible with my current monitor a Samsung CJ791. In the CJ791 specs I see that it allows for Daisy chaining but with Thunderbolt and was wondering if this is possible with an Displayport to Thunderbolt connection, and if so what would be a cable that is up to spec for this task.

2022.01.26 18:17 Peterback How should a Moka Pot puck look? Is it common for it to have a sort of hole in one side? I'm having problems with stuttering and suspect that this is one of the issues
Hey there, I started brewing with a moka pot around a month ago and I love it to bits. However, I have a recurring problem in which instead of a nice flow it usually sputters everywhere.
I have checked and secured that no steam escapes through the side of the cup following this video but I've noticed that a good bit of steam comes out the main column while brewing. Here's what an average puck looks like after brewing it with steam coming out and it sputtering everywhere. I suspect that steam is going through that sort of hole in the top right. By the way, I checked and all of the coffee was dark colored and soaked so its not like some parts don't have water going through them (at least I'm pretty sure).
I have been able to produce great coffee that flows slowly and evenly but I can't do it consistently.
For reference I use a six cup moka pot filling it with freshly boiled water up to just below the pressure valve, 18-20 grams of coffee beans grinded in a hand grinder (I dont tamp it, just spread it evenly) and brew on a gas flame stovetop with the flame at a very low intensity.
Thanks a bunch in advanced!
